In the ring in a year

A coaching program aimed at freeing your Strength within the environment of a fight. The development of positive thinking which will help you with depressive states in life. The anti-depressive effects of movement and a group. The ability to resolve stress and crisis situations. an intensive coaching programme for the development of physical and mental strength using Thai boxing with the aim of boxing against an opponent of a similar level within a year. Don’t worry, if you have never done much sport; if you are keen and healthy, this is for you.

This programme can be completed in two variants, either remotely (once a month) or within the framework of regular training in Prague – Hostivař.

The remote learning variant:

The essence of this variant lies in the fact that we meet once a month for a two-day intensive seminar where you will receive theoretical and practical skills which you then train at home. There will be videos, an individual training plan and the option of consultation between the seminars to support improvements in your performance.
This variant is designed either for people who do not live in Prague or for people who are unable to come regularly during the week.
A voluntary part of the programme includes a week-long training camp (we usually hold them in Greece, Thailand or the Czech Republic), which you can participate in. (The price of this training camp is not included in the price of the program.)

The summary - the contents of the "In the ring in a year" programme for the remote learning variant

    • 10 two-day seminars (a one–day variant is also possible by agreement) at Prague-Hostivař (theory, practice, analysis) + an individual training plan + consultation/coaching between seminars + a weekly training camp (not included in the price – usually held in Greece, Thailand or the Czech Republic)

The price for the two-day seminar (4 training sessions + theory) 2,600 CZK including entry to the gym

What you will learn/what you will gain

  • The body: you will learn the Thai boxing technique (hand and leg techniques, including striking with the elbows and knees, clinching), to shadow box, to box with a boxing bag, to spar, to work out using your own body weight, to work out with weights, stretching techniques. The goal is to increase the dynamism of movement, change the body’s composition, strengthen the muscles, increase skill levels and coordinate movements and improve your feeling based on how you feel about yourself
  • The mind and emotions: during the training and especially during sparring, you will experience fear, pain, aggression, joy, release, and a changed state of consciousness – and repeated encounters with all of these states. Gradually recognising them and “getting used” to them, understanding their functions and accepting them and subsequently being able to maintain detachment, calm and the ability to make effective decisions during these states constitute the essence of the Mind and Heart training. The entire training has repeatedly shown itself to support the resolution of various life crises, anxieties and light depression.
  • Thai boxing training places great demands on your ability to learn, to remember new movements, combinations and sparing situations and develop the ability to coordinate the body. You are forced to react to changing situations within a short time – these are all tools which will bring your mind to top condition regardless of your age.
  • Relationships: you will learn to say clearly and firmly what you want and what you don’t want, you will learn the language of boxers – you don’t have to use it in the office, but it is good to have it in reserve... There will also be a transition to a higher position within the framework of the social “food chain” – you will no longer stoop

The regular training variant:

The training takes place regularly 2x a week on Tuesdays from 11:30 and on Fridays from 12:30 at Prague-Hostivař. If there enough applicants, there will also be the option of training on Saturday from 10:00 am instead of one of the training sessions during the working week or another time can be found.

The gym in Hostivař is a highly specific place with a strong energy and “aroma” :-) Generations of fighters in various styles have cultivated their art there in exchange for the sweat, time, pain and ecstasy which you will experience during your growth and acquisition of Strength. Don’t expect a perfumed fitness centre – this is a working gym …
